We drove up to Olympia for the day this past Sunday. It was a lot of driving but I couldn't pass up seeing my Uncle Dan and cousins Christy and Alex. I have not seen them in over 5 years and it was really great to caught up. My Uncle Mark and David were also there so 3 of my mom's 4 brothers were together. There was about 20 people total and we had a really fun day.
Another big treat was getting to see the old playhouse in the middle of its renovation. I am SO excited that Grandma and Larry are taking on this huge project. The playhouse has not been used since I was a kid and was in pretty bad shape. Larry is keeping any usable wood on the house but of course has had to replace a lot of it. It is on a proper foundation now and has a new roof and new floor. Katya and Reagan had a GREAT time playing in it! I can't believe that my kids are now going to be able to enjoy this very special place that holds so many memories for me. Grandma Bev and her sisters played in it when they were kids, my mom and her brothers, my sisters and I and now the next generation. It should be finished by the next time we go up there! I cannot wait to see the restoration of this wonderful playhouse that is about 85 years old!
Katya loved being in the playhouse where she could still watch the goings on of "all the people."
Reagan loved it too!
The front of the playhouse was covered in shrubs, barley visiable for years. I can't wait to see the porch done; it was always one of my favoirte features of the house, but was pretty rotten even when I was a kid.
The interior has two rooms, and even had electricity which Larry is redoing. At some point it had a wood stove and chimmy but the stove has been long since removed and Larry took the chimmy off the top.
Reagan playing by some pretty flowers
I love this big old stump. Half of it is seen here, the other half is along this same section of crude fencing.
Just like the last visit, Reagan was obsessed with the soccer ball!
Grandma Bev and Reagan. Reagan was really good for everyone, yeah!
Playing with daddy
At the 'beach.'
Chelsea with a crab.
Katya loves looking under rocks and finding crabs.

Uncle Mark taking a rest
Chelsea grabbed about 4 of these huge, starfish out of the shore line (she's braver than I!). They were pink and fleshy still, definitly still alive but maybe on there way out. We found another one that was still pink but floppy and dead.
Returning the starfish to the water!
Cousins! Chelsea, Conner, Cody and Alex.
