Snowpocalypes 2014

We are surviving the big storm and extreme cold here in the midwest.  No loss of power for us, thankfully!  Sunday brought 12 inches of snow within 24hrs, which meant Craig and I shoveled 12 inches of snow off the driveway. It also meant fun in the snow with neighbors, sledding and good company.  It was quite warm all day Sunday while it was snowing, 33-34 degrees F which made it fun to be outdoors. The snow was heavy and wet and falling pretty hard at times. Our jackets, hats and gloves were super wet from it but we stayed warm. I tried to stay outside as much as I could, I LOVE the snow!  Monday brought the extreme cold, a high of -10 with very cold wind chill. We stayed inside all day and tried to do the usual weekday stuff.  Craig worked from home, and is again today by encouragment of Dow and his boss. School was cancelled so Katya will be joining "Mommy Preschool" again today. The snowplow came down our street last night (woo-hoo!) so we are going to venture out to the grocery store at some point. Hopefully normal life and travel will resume for the most part tomorrow and the rest of the week.  Fun and excitement!

I love these pictures of Elsie enjoying the snow! I want to print them someday; I just love to stare at them.

And Katya happy as can be: Neither of these were taken on Sunday...still have to download those pictures.
