First grade here she comes!

Our biggie has just two and a half more days in Kindergarten!  Last week her class and the first grade put on a little program for the parents, to thank them for sending them to Holy Cross.  This kids sang a few songs, told some jokes, and recited a poem.  At the end of it each kid took the microphone briefly to say what happiness is to them.  It was pretty cute hearing what they had to say.  There were lots of mention of family and dinosaurs (boys), Katya's response was an original.  She said, "happiness is having a Mom."  Yeah, I may have teared a little:-)

We then went to her classroom where Ms. Baird gave awards to all the kids.  It was fun hearing her talk about each kid and what they bring to class.  There were awards for peacekeeping, curiosity, positivity, responsibility and such. The "biggest" award given by her teacher she called the SLE, which I need to ask her to explain again.  But basically it is the all around award, doing well academically, socially, listening, and as an active Christian. There were two given, and Katya received one.  We are so proud of her!  Later in the day Katya said, "I did really good in Kindergarten."  Love. Her.

PS, we are still waiting on the job offer from Dow.  Craig's maybe future boss called to day and apologized once again for the wait.  The hold up is in HR.  There is probably a guy named Toby working there:-)
