I want to share some details of our summer vacation. We leave in only three weeks!
Our first long day of driving will be about 12.5 hrs to Fargo North Dakota. We are staying at an Econo Lodge for the night. The next day will be about 10 hours to Bozeman! Yeah! We have not been back since Katya was 4 weeks old. We are camping for two nights just outside of town. It will be a short visit but we will get to show the kids around the town and hopefully see a few friends. We are looking forward to dinner at the restaurant that Craig worked at, Ale Works. Yum!
The next leg of the journey will be about 10 hours to Seattle to see the Ross's. We will spend the night with them and some of the following day. Then it will be an easy hour and a half to Olympia. The girls are SO excited for this. We are staying 3-4 nights at Grandma Beverly's house. I am so happy that the girls will continue to make memories there, despite the fact that we now live 2000 miles away. After Grandma B's another easy drive down to Vancouver to Doug and Sharon's.
We will be staying in Portland/Vancouver for about 13 days. Craig will be working some of that time at his old Portland office. We have plans to go to the beach, and spend time at Allen and Eryn's in Forest Grove. The girls and I will bum around town with friends during the week. Craig planned a "guys camping" weekend with his friends while we are there, and the kids and I will have "girls camping" in Melanie's backyard. Lots of fun stuff!
We will leave Portland on a Friday and make the 2 day drive to Colorado. There we are meeting up with mom, dad, and the Kirkland's for 5 nights of camping! Yeah! I am so excited that we are incorporating so many things in this trip. We will get our camping fix in among other things. After the camping we have 2 more days of driving to get home. Craig will have one day to recover and then back to work. The girls will only have about a week and a half before school starts! I don't think I have quite processed the fact that Reagan will be starting Kindergarten....oh my heart.
And that's the trip! Epic. It will be a lot of driving but the car travel is making it possible to see so many people and places. I am very excited:-)
