Video clips

Here is Katya playing with some baby dolls. She is giving them a binky and then puts them to bed, 'in mama and daddy's bed.'

Here is Reagan army crawling, her own version of it that is.

Craig work and Reagan updates

Craig had a very positive review yesterday from his boss. They have been getting along MUCH better in the last few months which is such a relief. It is now a positive work environment for the most part, although he still misses his friends from Legacy. The good review was very important if he is to get a raise next year. Although it is not clear if the company will be doing raises at all. Many companies are not because of the poor economy.

Reagan has really taken off on her mobility, though she is still not officially crawling. She is moving forward quite well by getting her knees under her and propelling herself forward. It is like army crawling except with her lower body instead of her upper:0) She also can get herself from sitting to laying occasionally, but she has not perfected it yet.

Weaning her is not going very well because she is refusing the bottle, especially from me. Craig can get her to drink about an ounce, with some difficulty. It is so much easier just to nurse her! I think we will work on it over Christmas were there will be others to help feed her. She has been getting up once a night to nurse, usually around 10pm and then sleeping til 7;30. Not quite ALL the way through the night but still a 9hr stretch which I feel counts as 'sleeping through the night.'

Here are some cute pictures.

A few quick things...

As of this week Reagan is finally rolling to get places! It is so fun to watch her explore.

Katya is singing a ton! We love it. She does pretty well with the lyrics too. Although she did have her first lyric misinterpretion while watching "The Sound of Music " a few nights ago. During a song the lyric says, "Coo-koo, coo-koo" and she said, "lip-goo, lip-goo!" Craig and I died laughing lip goo is what we call the Aquaphor that we put on the rash she gets on her chin).

Reagan 8 months

Here is what Reagan is up to this month:

Sitting up very well.
Rolling more
Going after toys using her limited means of mobility
Two bottom teeth are in!
Had her first finger food, tofu (great protein, nice and soft!).
Babbling "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma"
Still sucking her thumb when we sooth her to sleep. I know it can be a tough habit to break but I think it is SO cute! Plus she rarely does it when she is awake so I don't know how attached she will get.

She is still pretty immobile for an 8 month old. Maybe she will take after her dad who never actually crawled (he scooted in the sitting position, weird yes) and did not walk until 17 months old. She is getting more interested in moving finally and will go after toys by rolling and pivoting.

She is not into solid foods the way Katya was but is doing okay. Eating 2-3 small meals a day, her favorite food is still oatmeal. After my latest, and one of the worst, bouts of mastitis I am ready to wean her from nursing. But I need to wait until my mastitis is cleared up. My midwife recommend taking a week or 2 to wean. She said with an 8 month old, I would be surprised how much milk I am actually making. It is so weird to now have to actively try to DECREASE my milk supply when I have fought so hard to keep it over these last 8 months. But I am confident in my decision to quit. I cannot keep getting sick like this.

Here are some pictures of our 8 month old!

Getting ready for an outting in the frigid temperatures.

Snow suit, Christmas gift from Uncle Don and Joan. Perfect for the cold day! Craig ran with the girls in the jogger and I rode my bike. And yes, it was COLD (but fun)!

5 year wedding anniversary

Craig and I celebrating five years of marriage today. We feel so blessed with such a wonderful, loving and supportive relationship. And I also feel particularly blessed for the sake of our kids. I am always surprised and saddened when I hear couples bicker and talk to each other with negative tones. Yikes! I cannot even imagine Craig speaking to me that way.

Melanie is babysitting for us tonight after the kids go to bed and Craig and I are going out! We were planning on going to a movie with our free Regal Cinema tickets but thanks to a very generous anniversary gift from my parents we have decided to try out Cinatopia in Vancouver. They have a 'living room' style theater that should hopefully be more comfortable for my long limbed spouse. The seats are bigger, recliner style and there is a ton more leg room. Poor Craig is never comfortable in a regular theater (part of the reason we never go to movies). Plus we can enjoy a drink while watching the movie and since it is 21 and over, we will avoid the comical but annoying 13 year old girls that will no doubt be out in droves to see 'New Moon,' the latest 'Twilight' series movie.

Here are a few pictures from last weekend, getting our Christmas tree. It was very fun. Katya likes to talk about how daddy carried the tree up the hill. Love to all!
